A (broad): Head, possibly type B9. It is finely dressed and precisely outlined with a fine roll moulding. The centre has been scribed by a compass; the point for the leg is clear in the hollow within two concentric mouldings.
B and D (narrow): Broken away.
C (broad): Part of a similar centre, less competently drawn.
The fine dressing and tooling of this piece, and the relationship of the compass-drawn centre to such incised slabs as Hartlepool 8, together with the early architectural evidence from the site (no. 4), indicate an early date.
