Appendix B item (stones wrongly associated with pre-Conquest period)

Fragment. Among the photographs in the British Museum Anglo-Saxon sculpture files is a print of an Acton fragment with an eagle which might be thought to be pre-Norman. The Romanesque Corpus entry by Ron Baxter, dated 18 May 2004, claims this as Norman.
