Ring, type a; head, type E6. The top of the cross-head is plain.
A and C (broad): The arm is edged by a roll moulding which encloses a form of split plait, threaded through by a long closed circuit loop. The two diverging strands presumably passed round the centre to repeat the pattern on other arms.
B and D (narrow): Broken away.
This is one of the few ring-headed crosses in the area, and its interlace motifs, confidently cut on the fan-armed head, are unique. It compares most closely with Yorkshire types such as Stonegrave (Collingwood 1927, fig. 150).
