Description

Rectangular cross-shaft. The incomplete single panels on all four faces are bordered by a roll moulding.

A (broad): Interlace formed of broad flat double-incised strands: a free ring crossed by long diagonals and simple pattern E terminal.

B (narrow): A single row of simple pattern E knots, irregularly set out, using median-incised strands; drilled holes emphasize the crossing points.

C (broad): An angular eight-strand plain plait, formed with flat median-incised strands, is linked by a single strand to a free ring crossed by long diagonals above. There are traces of double-incision on the strands of the ring-twist.

D (narrow): Three-strand plain plait with median-incised strands.
