Found in archaeological excavation north of Winchester cathedral in 1963 in rubble deriving from the demolition of New Minster; Final Phase 67 (Provisional Phase 528), c. 1110

No bed or dressed faces survive; the moulding is battered.
Description

A flat, horizontal moulding, 1 cm wide, forms part of a curve with a large diameter. Below, there is a concave moulding over an expanding slope; above, there are traces of what may be a twisted colonette, c. 7 cm in diameter, with another element coming in from the left.

Discussion
The carving is precise, but cannot be understood.
