Found in archaeological excavation north of Winchester cathedral in 1964 in rubble deriving from nave of Old Minster; Final Phase 58 (Provisional Phase 950), c. 1093-4

Present Condition
Only one bed face survives; the carved surface is battered, and there are traces of plaster and whitewash.
Description
The moulding consists of two rounded horizontal elements, separated by a deep V-cut, below a wider, shallower, and backward sloping element, and above a vertical face. The bed face is at a steep angle to the mouldings.
Discussion
This could be part of a string or impost.
