Description

A stone with cabled decoration, similar to Broughton 2 (p. 117), was reported in 1905–6 under the west respond of the south aisle ((—) 19056a, xi).

Discussion

Appendix C item (lost stones for which no illustration has survived).

No stone corresponding to the description has been identified under the west respond of the south aisle. There is an ancient slab under the west respond of the north aisle, but although it is pitted by wear and weathering it is not decorated.
