A (broad) : The edge moulding, which is modelled but very damaged, passes along the gently curved top of the stone. Within the panel a tightly coiled scroll in the centre terminates a loose strand which zig-zags below it and to each side. The broad strand is roughly hacked. The lower part is scabbled.
B (narrow) : Worn and roughly dressed.
C (broad) : The edge moulding is broad, containing a panel with roughly executed tegulae or chevrons. The surface is very worn.
D (narrow) : Broken.
E (top) : Worn.
This is not careful work. Its 'belated scroll' is a motif once considered a late feature (Kendrick 1949, 65), but it could as easily pass for an incompetent Anglo-Scandinavian attempt.
