Description

One fine edge moulding survives, and part of a saltire element with triple crossing strands, with the intersections filled by indeterminate motifs of a floral type.

Discussion

This may have been part of the side panel of a cross-shaft, as on Kirklevington 16B, which it closely resembles (Ill. 444). There is a similar foliate motif on Kirkby in Cleveland 3 (Ill. 394).

Date
Tenth to eleventh century(?)
