Part of a possibly rectangular slab with an incised cross on a long stem (horizontal as placed) with a head of type B8.
Appendix A item (Stones dating from Saxo-Norman overlap period or of uncertain date)
This is again a very simple monument, characteristic of this site. The head of this cross suggests a pre-Conquest date, and the incised outline could also imply a relatively early date, although it is notable that later cross-slabs here seem to be incised rather than in relief. The local context seems to suggest very simple monuments related to pre-Conquest work, but nothing earlier than the eleventh century. A possible parallel could be Romaldkirk 1, north Yorkshire (Lang 2001, 284, ill. 1183).
