Appendix C item (lost stones for which no illustration has survived)

Wallis (1932, 42) noted that 'it is one of the many tantalising features of Blackburnshire that the stone cross which, in company with some coins (said to be Roman) was dug up at this place about 80 years ago can no longer be found, nor any record discovered of its size or style of decoration'.
