A shaft with a large dowel-hole in the top(?) and bottom, and a single inset roll moulding. It is chamfered on the top(?) and bottom.

This is possibly the support for a piece of furniture, since, unlike other baluster shafts with raised mouldings, it has a wide chamfered base and top.
