A (long) and D (narrow): Carved continuously round the angle of the soffit face. Three deep closely spaced roll mouldings are framed above and below by flat-band mouldings.
B and C: Built in.
Although in general form this is not unlike 28 and an impost from Bywell (no. 2), its greater size and the continuous flow of the mouldings around both faces may indicate that it is Roman. However, it may have been reused in Wilfrid's church.
