Evidence for Discovery
First noted by Longstaffe (1858, 82) that carved stones built into walls of church tower. Most now very worn. Not all of those surviving drawn in Stuart (1867) and some which were drawn not now identifiable.

Description

One face only is drawn by Stuart.

B (narrow): Edged with a roll moulding and enclosing a six-cord pattern, which apparently consisted of U-bend terminals in a closed circuit arrangement, the pattern being broken and joined by circuiting strands.

Discussion

This is an unusual pattern but can be compared with Aycliffe 10 and Hart 2.
