Description

Both long faces are carved, and are incomplete; both short sides and the top are damaged.

A and C (long): Framed in a flat-band moulding above and below are groups of balusters with incised caps and bases, separated by plain panels. The surface below has been dressed smooth.

Discussion

This piece has the same formula of triplets of balusters separated by blank panels as is found on the edge of cross-arm no. 9. It could be part of the same scheme (Introduction, p. 24).
