Head, type D11.
A (broad): Interlace, enclosed in a single roll moulding. In the end of the arm is one unit of double-stranded simple pattern E; part of a second unit, back to back with the first, carries on the design, and could be the same pattern.
B (narrow): Plain.
C (broad): Interlace – pattern C with variations: pattern C loops in three paired units with outside strands, concentric edge breaks and pattern F loops formed through the long U-bend corner loops (Adcock 1974, pl. 65b).
D (narrow): No pattern survives.
This head could belong to shaft 1, since it is in the same style of cutting and its dimensions are compatible.
