Description

All faces have heavy cable borders. Only one carved face.

A (broad): Within the cable is an inner wide roll moulding. There are the remains of two registers of incised double-outlined saltire ornament.

Discussion

Appendix A item (stones dating from Saxo-Norman overlap period or of uncertain date).

Very confident chiselling, not picking. The saltire ornament is like that on Bolam 3.
