Description

Only one face is visible.

A (broad): The cross-head, type E8, is carved in one block with the shaft, which is plain and without edge mouldings. The head is carved from a solid round plate with the arms in high relief. The arms are short and the central roundel is plain.

Appendix A item (stones dating from Saxo-Norman overlap period or of uncertain date).

Heads of the plate type are commonly found on crosses and grave-markers in the Saxo-Norman overlap period, although the arm types can vary between E8 or 6 and B6, as on Warden 5 or Woodhorn 3.
