Description

A: The shaft tapers. Several 'small half rounds' stand proud near the point where the stone enters the wall (Tweddle 1987a, 121).

B and D (narrow): Plain.

Discussion

Appendix A item (stones dating from Saxo-Norman overlap period or of uncertain date).

Too little remains for meaningful comment. The taper suggests that the lintel may be part of a reused cross-shaft.
