Description

Only one face is visible.

Along one edge is a plain flat moulding. Above it are three registers of a degenerate ring-chain made up of adjacent circles and threaded by simple horizontal and vertical elements. All the strands are median-incised.

Discussion

This is a rustic piece, attempting a continuous ring-chain by a technique of using discrete elements reminiscent of 'stopped-plait' (see Bailey and Cramp 1988, 29, fig. 6b). The cutting is clumsy.
