Overview
Present Location
Inside church of Holy Redeemer, Boroughbridge Road, York, built into spandrel of south face of arcade above westernmost pier, adjacent to voussoirs
Evidence for Discovery
See no. 3.
Church Dedication
St Mary Bishophill Senior
Present Condition
Very broken and worn
Description

Only one face is visible.

There are no outer edge mouldings. Across the centre is a double moulding, one cabled, the other plain. Below this is what appears to have been a two-strand twist, tightly wound. Above it, a broader twist survives in part. The cutting is unsure.

Discussion

This is probably part of a grave-cover with a central ridge: a poor reflex of the Metropolitan School slabs, such as no. 13.
