Found in archaeological excavation north of Winchester cathedral in 1965 in rubble deriving from tenth-century east apse of Old Minster; Final Phase 56-63 (Provisional Phase 724), late eleventh- to early twelfth-century

One bed face survives; the carved surface is battered.
Description

A rounded element, diameter c. 4.2 cm, curves out of an opening and folds back over.

Discussion
An incomprehensible part of a three-dimensional sculpture of very high relief.
