Found in archaeological excavation north of Winchester cathedral in 1965 in rubble from demolition of tenth-century eastern apse of Old Minster; Final Phase 65 (Provisional Phase 679), early twelfth-century

No dressed face survives; the relief of the carving is well preserved.
Description
This is part of a running scroll as seen best on Winchester, Ha. (Old Minster) no. 47 (Ill. 576). The relief of the scroll is 2 cm high.
