A (long) : The end-beast is in relief: a dragonesque head flanking the tegulation. The eyes are incised circles on the sides of the brow which takes the shape of the ridge which issues from the jowl. The jaws gape and have fangs.
The ridge is defaced above a steep roof pitch with three rows of type 7 tegulae. The damaged eaves may have been moulded. The vertical side below has very damaged horizontal interlace in broad strand. A panel below the end-beast is marked by a roughly incised vertical: it encloses a profile bird facing right, with four tail feathers, crest and talon. Its eye is incised; its bill is pincer-like.
B (end) : Broken away.
C (long) : The end-beast and three rows of tegulae (as face A) survive, but the lower part is cut away with a square mortise hole in the centre.
D (end) : Plain and slightly hipped.
F (bottom) : Extensively hollowed out below.
This is a transition between types e and k: the panel layout is from the enriched shrine type, but the end-beast mask comes from the dragonesque type (Lang 1984a, 99, 101). The carving is rustic. The broken end is only slightly scooped, so the hollow underneath is probably secondary.
