A (broad) : The edge moulding is a broad pellet run or perhaps cable, and within it is a narrow modelled moulding. The rest of the face is plain. A deep secondary groove cuts across the stone.
B (narrow) : Scabbled; the edge moulding lost.
C (broad) : Damaged.
D (narrow) : On the right the edge moulding is as on face A. The inner moulding turns across the top of the stone.
A paucity of decorative features hampers interpretation. It may be compared with a shaft, unpublished, at Little Ouseburn in the West Riding.
