Description

A (broad) : A plate-head cross of type B10. The cross has a modelled edge moulding and slightly convex arm tips. In the centre is a damaged circular boss. In each lateral arm is a 'Brompton loop' in broad modelled strand, deeply cut.

B (narrow) : The edge moulding is modelled and contains four-cord plain plait of four stages in narrow modelled strand. The hole-points are 1 inch apart.

C (broad) : As face A, the knots in better relief, the boss hacked away.

D (narrow) : As face B.

Discussion

This piece has an identical design and form with no. 6 above, and comes from the Allertonshire workshop.
