Overview
Present Location
Built into the exterior south wall of the chancel, east of the priest's door, on its side
Evidence for Discovery
Noted by Ada Russell in the Victoria County History (Page, W. 1914)
Church Dedication
Present Condition
The neck of a cross; only one face visible
Description

The edge moulding is plain, with locking rings on the top corners of the shaft by the neck. At one end the face is quite plain and at the other are remains of closely woven interlace in flat strap: the pattern can not be determined.

Discussion

The locking ring is a feature of the Allertonshire workshop (Chap. VI, pp. 44–5), and should be compared with Brompton 3 and Kirklevington 2 (Ills. 37–8, 404–7). This monument seems to have been smaller and less ambitious.
