Description

Only one face is carved. The carving is rounded and confident.

B (narrow): A panel of eight-cord plait, complete pattern D, enclosed in a double roll moulding. The bottom of the shaft where it fitted into the socket is plain.

Discussion

There is little evidence by which to date this cross but its emphasis on pattern D interlace fits best the late Bernician group.
